The sound of the crowd invades the living room

With the proximity of the 2026 World Cup, consumers’ appetite for large-screen TVs should gain new momentum – and, according to NielsenIQ, this movement opens space for complementary categories, such as soundbars. As the public prepares to watch the matches with maximum quality, attention grows to the overall audiovisual experience.

“The image is fundamental, but it is through audio that the public connects with the shout of goal and the chant of the crowd. With spectacular sound immersion, it is possible to bring the emotion of the World Cup to the living room at home,” says Luciano Sasso, vice president of sales & marketing of the Consumer Audio business unit of Harman South America.

The design of modern TVs, with increasingly larger screens and ultra-thin profiles, restricts the internal space needed for the installation of powerful acoustic systems. With that, the consumer becomes naturally interested in boosting the sound, seeking external solutions such as soundbars. The good news is that manufacturers have lines that meet the most varied demands, from entry models for compact environments to advanced systems with multiple channels and features designed to improve the cinema experience.

For the consumer, the season represents the chance to raise the level of home entertainment. For the retailer, a fertile ground opens for cross-selling: each TV sold can come accompanied by a complementary audio solution, increasing the average ticket of the purchase and strengthening the mix. After all, cross-selling can transform the World Cup excitement into more robust commercial results – and the moment to take advantage of this wave is now.

JBL

Replacing the BAR 1300, the most modern soundbar of the MK2 line has Real Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which guarantees a more realistic sound immersion. Technologies such as MultiBeam™ 3.0 and PureVoice 2.0 perfect the soundstage of the contents and the captured dialogues. There are three front channels, two side surrounds and two rear surrounds, in addition to four additional channels built into the soundbar and modules to fill the environment. A differentiator is the possibility of removing the removable wireless speaker boxes of the JBL 1300X MK2, connecting devices via Bluetooth, pairing via Auracast and taking true stereo sound around the house. With the special mode for watching at night, the soundbar and the subwoofer are muted, while the speaker boxes offer an intimate-quality audio experience – individual or for two.

LG

The S95TR soundbar system is a premium model, with 9.1.5 channels and 810 W of power, delivering immersive audio with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Its set includes a subwoofer and wireless rear speaker boxes, in addition to automatic calibration resources via AI. LG Synergy with LG TVs enhances the experience. With WOW Orchestra, the soundbar and the TV speakers work together to create a more involving sound. WOW Interface allows simplified control and direct integration through the TV menu. And WOW Cast enables wireless connection, facilitating installation. When combined with a compatible LG TV, it delivers unified operation and cinema sound, within the same brand ecosystem.

Samsung

The B450F soundbar offers configurations that go beyond the obvious and arrives as an entry door to an enhanced sound experience. The model presents 2.1 channels, including a wireless subwoofer, Dolby Audio technology and DTS Virtual:X, which allows a state-of-the-art audio processing experience. In addition, Bass Boost amplifies lower frequencies to give more impact to soundtracks. Other features that further enhance the experience are automatic equalization, voice amplifier, Game Mode and Night Mode. The model also has the possibility of using the same remote control for TV and soundbar if both are Samsung products, in addition to having HDMI ARC and Bluetooth connection with the TV.

TCL

With glazed design, TCL’s Q85H Pro soundbar is a premium model, with 7.1.4 surround channels and 860 W of power. There are 7 main audio channels, 1 wireless subwoofer and 4 upper projection channels, ensuring a three-dimensional sound and surround with audio coming from above and from behind. Highlight to the independent 200 W wireless subwoofer, which provides powerful bass. In addition to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for an immersive experience, the soundbar is equipped with the proprietary Ray-Danz technology, which uses calibrated reflectors and angled drivers for a wider soundstage. The AI Sonic-Adaptation feature, in turn, adjusts the sound quality according to the environment, providing personalized sound effects.
